A Guest Lecture on an Overview of Service Tax

A guest lecture on an overview of service tax was held from 11am to 1pm on 13th march 2014 inside our seminar hall.It was coordinated by BBA Programme coordinator Harkiranjeet kaur Mam & the faculty members of BBA department.50-60 students from various semesters attended the lecture along with  Our Dean Management Prof. P.K.Aggrawal Sir.The purpose of the seminar was to chalk out a brief introduction on service tax along withits  need and expansion . The lecture was conducted by Sir Ujjwal Pant, a qualified company secretary & a law graduate from University of delhi.He has around 10 years of post qualification experience working in different capacities both in the private sector and public sector. He is currently associated as Reporting Officer with the Finance Committee of Parliament of India. He has worked extensively in the areas of Corporate Restructuring and Taxation. He was responsible for finalizing the reports on historic legislations like the Companies Bill 2012, Direct Tax Code 2010, the GST Bill, etc., that  would entirely change the regulatory landscape for the corporate sector in the years to come.
Before the session, Sir Ujjwal Pant, Dean Management Prof. P.K.Aggrawal& other faculty members enlightened the lamp before the  GodessSaraswati.
Then Dean Management Prof. P.K.Aggrawal Sir honoured Sir Ujjwal Pant, a good luck plant and a gift of token. Student among us captured the moment and everybody clapped for admiration. Now the session begun with introductory part of the service tax and prolonged touching all the necessary details regarding constitution, expansion, exemption & collection of service tax.
We cleared our doubts asking Sir Ujjwal Pant necessary act and the specified articles. We also solved numerical problems in order to  calculate  service tax . After the interactional session Prof. P.K.Aggrawal  spoke few words admiring the guest and the students for worthy session.
